1.General
The Stealth VDF Encryptor Digital Encryptor provides communications security for
users in the modern government and business environments, through the use of
contemporary encryption and digital transmission techniques.
These techniques give maximum protection while at the same time being reliable and easy to use.
The Stealth.VDF Encryptor is a stand-alone encryption device which is used in conjunction with a standard analog desktop telephone or fax.
The Stealth VDF Encryptor can configure to operate at different levels of security,
ranging from interpersonal communications to secure military and government use.
Users can select the appropriate security level on a per-call basis.
Encryption uses a 128-bit encryption algorithm, or the Stealth VDF Encryptor can be configured to use an alternative such as AES or a customer-specific cryptographic algorithm.
The Stealth VDF Encryptor uses one-time encryption keys to protect each
Conversation or fax transmission. New traffic keys are created at the start of each communication, and the session is established using a secret key process based on keys loaded by the customer.
These secret keys can be generated from codes entered by the user through the keypad (Group Mode operation), or for more critical applications, the customer can electronically load externally generated 128 bit keys using a special-purpose fill device (Net Mode operation).
The features of the Stealth VDF Encryptor allow it to be easily adapted for use in a
variety of situations. The Stealth VDF Encryptor is light and compact, and is well-suited to the needs of executives who require secure communications when traveling. It connects directly into public telephone networks using a standard analog telephone connection.
The Stealth VDF Encryptor's security features are user-controlled, and when not activated do not interfere with normal telephone or fax use.

3.Configuring the STN VDF Encryptor for use
Using the Configuration Menu
The Stealth VDF Encryptor has a number of programmable features which can be
accessed through a password-protected menu.

•Programming a Fax Authentication Identifier
•Changing your password
•Selecting the default Communications Setup (Voice or Fax)
•Selecting the modem speed
•Setting amplitude levels (signal and volume)
•Selecting impedance setting
•Selecting the default cryptographic mode (Group or Net)
•Setting the default Group or Net Number
•Selecting the algorithm and cipher chaining mode
•Programming cryptographic keys
